New Features Added to GMB – Second Quarter, 2019

Google My Business is the connecting bridge between the audience who are searching for the right information about the business & business owners who are expecting to provide all nuts & bolts of their business details. Google is now adding up new features to GMB in an account to be more helpful for the users and business owners to access it.

17th APR 2019: SHORT NAME & SHORT URL FOR BUSINESS

Google is rolled out a feature to let the businesses create a short name and short URL. Short URL is created in a way to provide easy access to business profiles listed in Google for the potential audience and also for business owners to share it easily. The short name will be unique for each & every business on Google, and it helps the business owners to promote the brand easily with a shorter name, which will also be remembered by the people easily.

Business owners also have their short name & URL on all their marketing collaterals and in all social media channels to help the audience easily find their business & leave reviews and also access contact information.

 

 

APRIL 19th: POSITIVE REVIEWS SUGGESTION FOR GMB POSTS

Positive reviews for a business is a positive sign and a growing step of it. Google makes an opportune moment for showcasing the positive feedback in Google My Business post. Google announced the new feature autosuggestion positive reviews in GMB posts for selected countries. It creates a good impression among the people who are searching and expecting good products & services based on 5-star rating & honest reviews.

MAY 30th: SCROLLING POPULAR DISHES ON RESTAURANT

Google maps integrated a new section named “Popular Dishes” in google maps while people searching for the restaurants. Popular Dish is placed under the menu section in GMB profile which is generated only based on the customers’ reviews, photos & what they are ordering in the restaurant using a machine learning algorithm. This section is useful for other people to order the popular dish in the restaurant directly without the help of a menu card and also easy for touristers to pick the correct dish. Only eatery listings like restaurants, cake shops, pizza shops and business related to the food & beverage industry can have it. (Updated: For some good reason Google removed this in India, we are expecting this feature again in the coming weeks)

MAY 1st: GOOGLE AUTOMATED CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

Great customer experience is the fuel for all business which reflects in the company’s growth. Google is going to establish a new feature named “CALL JOY” mainly for small businesses to improve their growth. Call Joy is an automated call intelligence system which answers the calls regarding customer queries. It makes the business owners free from all the calls and also helps to avoid spam calls. Call Joy virtual agent will answer the people by providing all the basic info about the shop and send the purchase link in case they need to order. It also keeps an eye on the call details, let the business owners updated on the calls in the GMB profile dashboard.
